What April's Clients Have To Say

A word from a few of my buyers:

"Moving our family from the UK was an overwhelming proposition. Shopping
for a home long distance even more so. But April really put our hearts at ease
with her invaluable service. She was in constant communication with us and
really watched out for us in the transaction. Even when complications arose
due to our being abroad during the transaction. We proudly send anyone looking
buy or sell to her anytime we find out they're in need."

Julie Thompson, Columbia SC

"When I was looking to purchase my first home, I wanted a real estate
agent I could trust.  I found that someone in April.  This being my
first experience of buying a home, I had quite a number of questions.
April was very easy to get in contact with and answered all of my
questions.  She basically did all the work for me from setting up
appointments and talking with my builders to setting me up with a
reputable mortgage company.  All I had to do was show up and sign on all
the dotted lines!  Even after I closed on my house and have been
living in it for more than a year, I still call her to get questions
answered.  Thanks to April, I'm a proud homeowner!  I will continue to
use April for many years to come for all my real estate needs."

Rebecca Lindler, Chapin SC

"After years of paying rent and having nothing to show for it, I finally
realized that it was time to face my fears and jump into the world of
homeownership. Fortunately I had April to make this seemingly
frightening experience quite easy. April was always available to answer
my numerous questions and would even rearrange her schedule to meet
my needs. Dealing with a builder is never easy, but with April as my Realtor,
I was confident in knowing that she would make sure that everything was
done right. April calmed my nerves and made me realize that the home buying
experience is nothing to be afraid of, as long as you have the right agent.
Now, I have one for life."

Dena Fredrick, Irmo SC

A word from a few of my sellers:

"The decision to list our home was an agonizing process. We'd purchased
through the original listing agent and had a horrible experience. A good friend
referred us to April when they found out we were planning to sell and boy
are we thankful. April is on top of her game. She helped us figure out what
we needed to do to get the home ready, evaluated the market for us so we
could position our home to sell and then she put her marketing skills to work.
Our home sold quickly and it went super smooth. Now we can start that new
job in the cold North. Hopefully we'll migrate back to warmer temps. If we
do, I know exactly who we'll call to find a home for us!"

Chris Newton

"April helped me purchase my first home in 1997. It was a perfect fit at the time
but years and several children later we were busting at the seams. I gave
April a call and she took care of everything! We were concerned because a
neighbor's house had been on the market for some time. But our home sold and
closed before the other one ever even went under contract. We also were
concerned over timing since we needed to sell ours to purchase. But our
fears were unwarranted. April helped us sell our home, find a new home and
transition smoothly from one to the other with no problems at all! I'm hoping
we won't be moving anytime soon. But if we do, I plan to call April."

I chose a career in real estate for many reasons. As a child I grew up under the wing of my mother who has been one of Columbia's most successful REALTORS for over 30 years. As a result, I was able to learn the detailed work that is required to really help a client very early on. It can be a very demanding job, but being there for a client when they move into their new home is very rewarding.

A degree in Advertising and Public Relations with a cognate in Psychology has provided me with important tools for assisting sellers target the market and helping to assess and meet the needs of all of my clients. I am devoted to establishing and executing specialized marketing and advertising plans that best fit the needs of my clients. My expertise in this area is a huge asset to my clients.

Most importantly, I enjoy my job. I enjoy ensuring that all of the details are taken care of. When buying or selling a home, there is a great deal more to do than accept or make an offer. There are disclosures, inspections, loan processing, closing coordinating and many other tasks to be done. My job is to make sure that these things are taken care of and that the transaction goes as smoothly as possible.

Fun Facts:

  • In July 2008 we were blessed with the arrival of our precious daughter.

  • As a third grader at Saint John Neumann School, designed the Richland County flag. It currently hangs on the wall in the county council chamber. My version was in crayon however.

  • Was once an Amateur Roller Skater; yes they have roller skating competitions much like ice skating competitions, believe it or not.

  • Avid Reader of fiction and non-fiction. For info on literacy programs, go to www.famlit.org.

  • Self-proclaimed do-it-yourselfer.

  • Sold my first home at age 11 when I showed a neighboring home to a pair of joggers one morning before school while my mom was in the shower. She wasn't too happy that I'd taken her lockbox key and entered a vacant home with strangers without permission and she gave me a well deserved long talking to. But she also rewarded me after closing with a trip to the ice cream shop.
